Daydreamer Painting

Hi All

I’ve been working on the following Abstract Painting for approx. four weeks, adding layers upon layers off bright bold circles of colour, it also has metallic acrylic paint which gives its a beautiful eye catching sheen

I decided to name my painting ‘Daydreamer’ as I daydream a lot ……… about colours, shapes, ideas for my next painting project. I’ve also decided to use this on the header of my blog page as I love the colours, they inspire me, I hope you like it, please feel free to commentcropped-daydreamer-1.jpg

Beautiful paintings and dogs make your heart and soul smile

Me and My Painting

I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, as a child my Christmas present lists to Santa would consists of:- Colouring Books, Paint, Pencils, Crayons – a anything art related. Now and again a doll would be included in my ‘wish list’ but eventually I would end up painting the dolls face.

As the years past I studied art at school and was often told by my teachers I had a ‘talent’, although I never gained any educational qualifications in Art.

After leaving school, whilst I continued to paint and draw but I had to get a job, bills to pay, family etc…………

The majority of the paintings I have done in my adulthood have been done as gifts or have a sentimental value, these paintings I have never and would never sell.

Continual comments from friends and family suggesting that I sell my paintings encouraged me to do a couple of Art & Craft Fairs, these were very productive, so I’ve finally decided to try and promote, advert and sell my paintings, drawings and limited edition prints online as well as continuing with Art & Craft Fairs and Exhibitions.

The internet/blogging world is a bit of a mystery to me, and I’m going on a steep learning curve.

I’ve set up a shop on Esty and am eagerly awaiting (hopingly) on selling my first painting online !

New to selling Art ……but not to painting Art

Hello and Welcome to my art and my blog.

I am a full time artist based in a small picturesque seaside village in North Wales in the United Kingdom.

I have always enjoyed art which I studied at school many years ago and was forever enthralled after a school trip to Manchester Art Gallery. I immensely enjoy creating my art and also have a diploma in interior design and perspective drawing. I am currently working on encaustic art paintings, using Beeswax which has been inspired by artists such as Betsy Eby and Janise Yntema.

I enjoy creating unique highly textured abstract pieces of art on canvas, specializing in creating individual stunning pieces of artwork which I have sold at Art & Craft Fairs, Exhibitions and recently on-line. I also enjoy figurative drawings in charcoal and smooth graphite pencils, sometimes adding a splash of colour with mixed media including acrylics, I also enjoy (and dabble) in Photography

My inspiration comes from walking on the beach, the sand dunes and across the hills throughout Wales, whilst watching the sun on the horizon, the calm turquoise sea in summer with golden sands and jewel blue waves shimmering in the sunlight dancing around the Lighthouse.

The landscape changes daily and dramatically in winter the choppy deep waves create a stunning mixture of dark striking colours. Wales has many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty which inspire me to paint representing my personal thoughts and emotions which I capture on canvas and express through bold colour, strong composition, textures and shapes, including elements of the environment and from nature.

Whilst I am not new to painting art and selling my art through Art Fairs and Exhibitions I am new to online selling, its quite a minefield which i’m working my way through, I currently have my art work on my shop at Etsy
